Air Canada offers regular daily flights from Vancouver (YVR) to Sandspit (YZP). For more information 1-888-247-2262 www.aircanada.com.

Pacific Coastal Airways offers flights to Masset from Vancouver, Prince Rupert, and other locations. For more information:

North Pacific Seaplanes offers flights to Masset, Queen Charlotte, and Sandspit from Prince Rupert. For more information: 1-800-689-4234 www.northpacificseaplanes.com .

BC Ferries offers year-round service from Prince Rupert to Skidegate Landing on a seven-hour crossing. An Inside Passage ferry runs between Port Hardy (Vancouver Island) and Prince Rupert. Reservations are highly recommended. For more information: 1-888-BCFERRY (1-888-223-3779) www.bc ferries .

Via Rail offers train service to Prince Rupert from Jasper. Travel to Jasper from Vancouver or Edmonton by train. For more information: www.viarail.ca.

Getting Around Haida Gwaii

The communities of Queen Charlotte, Skidegate, Tlell, Port Clements, Masset, and Old Massett are located on the northern island, called Graham Island. Sandspit and the Sandspit airport are located on Moresby Island. A ferry connects the two islands.

Visitor Information


 

Community Visitor Centres are located in the Village of Queen Charlotte, the Sandspit Airport and the Village of Masset. Queen Charlotte and Sandspit centres have a trip planning area with marine charts and topographic maps, and a marine VHF radio to check the weather and sea conditions. Small Craft Harbours

Facilities for recreational and commercial vessels are available in Queen Charlotte, Sandspit, and Masset. Facilities include pay phones, electrical hookups and fresh water. Sandspit Harbour has a holding tank pumpout station and showers.
